On the second Friday of every month, from 5 to 8 p.m., the fine folks in Kirkland encourage you to see and purchase the works of local artisans that run the gamut from pastel creations to iron works to fine art prints on their downtown Kirkland Art Walk.
Fortunately Bellevue’s best marijuana shop, BelMar, is right on your way to the walk. Open nearly all day, BelMar provides premium buds to Eastside pot fans with specials galore till midnight all week.
All of this art and weed talk got us thinking about great artists and what they must have or should have been smoking when they created their work. Fortunately, they are available to enhance your Kirkland Art Walk at a great price.
The Artist: Vincent Van Gogh
Considered one of the most influential figures in Art, Van Gogh was from the Netherlands later known as great weed paradise. For Vincent, we recommend BelMar’s Amsterdam Ind from Fruit of the Root ($10 per 1g or $25 for 3.5gs) This hybrid will spark your creativity without making you angsty enough to say… chop off your own ear.
The Artist: Andy Warhol
This Pop Art Master is best known for his works exploring the relationship between artistic expression, celebrity culture, and advertising. He also created rock and roll cover art, most famously for the Rolling Stones and the band he personally sponsored the Velvet Underground, giving them their iconic Yellow Banana for their debut record. In his honor, we recommend BelMar’s Premium Weed, Banana Peel from Cleo, which ranges from f $17 for 1g, to $300 for 28g.
The Artist: Georgia O’Keeffe
O’Keeffe who called New Mexico home for most of her life lived to be nearly 100 years old and created works from New York skyscraper scenes to New Mexico’s vivid landscapes. She is, of course, most famous for her “Enlarged Flowers”. To help Georgia on her quest to capture giant vulvas in a pastel color scheme we’d suggest BelMar’s Utopia Kush from Fruit of the Root ranging from $25 for 3.5g to $199 for 28g
